Meet Our Docents

Clare Ellis is one of our newer docents here at the Childhood Home. A native of Savannah who left for a time, Clare returned July 2007 in order to teach English at Savannah Country Day School to 10th and 11th graders. Little did she know her classes would be held right next to Rena Patton's, past Board President and current member and docent. Clare was recruited and began docenting January 2008, a very welcomed addition to our excellent staff of volunteers.

Special Visit

On Friday, January 30th, the Childhood Home was visited by Ms. Diane Welker and her A. P. English class from Trinity Christian in Statesboro, GA. In preparation for their visit, the class read A Good Man Is Hard To Find.

Everyone found inspiration from viewing a copy of one of Flannery's report cards she received while attending Sacred Heart here in Savannah. Our thanks to Ms. Welker and her class for their interest in Flannery.
